Shearing machine provides more diversity

July 29th, 2010

For Lyn-Tron, Screw Machines have been the backbone of our success along with highly experienced Technicians in our field. During tough times it is hard to justify the expenditures of new equipment especially something new to us. But to stay ahead of an ever changing environment we have purchased a State-of-the Art Shearing Machine capable of making pins for aerospace & defense, staples used in the medical field and small tubing for needles. These parts and others like them can be produced at speeds of up to 350 pieces per minute and capable of shearing up to 5/32 inch in 302 spring temper steel.

Here at Lyn-Tron we pride ourselves in the most up to date equipment. Not only to stay ahead of our competitors, but to give our customers the best price and quality to go along with the best service in the business.

Vote for the next feature at lyntron.com

April 14th, 2010

Currently we’re conducting a survey we want to know what you want next out of lyntron.com.   As an authorized distributor you currently have the ability to cast your vote.  In order to access the survey, simply login to the site as normal and go to the home page.  You then should be able to see the survey located in the middle right portion of the screen.  Once you’ve casted your vote you’ll be able to see the current results of what other distributors have voted for.  I can tell you that as of right now (4/14/2010) the overwhelming opinion is for Online Order Tracking.

Once your vote is cast you won’t have the chance to go back and resubmit it.  So make it count!  We’ll keep this survey up on the homepage for about a month or two then we’ll put another one up.

Lyn-Tron Website Part II

March 1st, 2010

The website has been released for about 6 months and in that time we have noticed a lot of interesting things.  I would have to say that the overall response has been overwhelmingly positive.  Now that some time has passed, we have begun to focus our attention elsewhere on the site.  We want to produce some really cool apps that would directly help you become more productive with Lyn-Tron.

I hope that people who have distributor internet accounts have already taken advantage of Lyn-Tron’s online pricing and conformity statements.  In the coming months, Lyn-Tron is going to continue to develop the site by creating L.O.D.A.’s.  A Lyn-Tron Online Desktop Application (or L.O.D.A. as we call it) will revolutionize the way that our customers interact with Lyn-Tron.  By creating online widgets, our customers will be able to quickly keep up with orders and increase productivity directly from lyntron.com.  As the site expands, so does the need for help.  Currently, we are conducting surveys with our customer base to see if there are different forms of communications to help enhance your experience at lyntron.com.

If there are any suggestions that you would like to see on lyntron.com please don’t hesitate to leave a message on this blog.  We want to develop applications that our users want to use and would be helpful.

Thanks again-

Lyn-Tron to offer NAS parts

February 18th, 2010

The National Aerospace Stardard is a requirement that is found aerospace industry.  One major area of focus for NAS style parts are that they have a tight tolerance during manufacturing.  Here at Lyn-Tron, we pride ourselves on the ability to machine parts to tight tolerances while providing near mirror like finishes.  We’ve created a good deal of our catalog parts to work in place of NAS style part, but without the NAS part number designation.  Sometime during the first quarter of 2010 look for some changes at Lyn-Tron concerning NAS style parts.

Sincerely,

Proactive vs. Reactive

January 14th, 2010

Sometimes in life it’s the littlest things that can make the biggest difference. For example, lets say that you give your word to a friend that you were going to be at their house to help them move. They want to start at nine o’clock sharp cause it’s going to take all day, well you over sleep and now its 11. You wake up and decide that you’re going to make some breakfast before you head out to help your friend. By the time you get there your friend is upset and hurt that you didn’t even call to say that you would be late. Its amazing what a simple phone call can do to help smooth over the situation.

The same concept can be true in business. Let’s face it things run late, they break and errors happen. Its important to remain proactive instead of reactive. At Lyn-Tron we strive to communicate with our customers if their orders run into a little snag and could potentially be late. Most of the time if its an error that Lyn-Tron has committed we try our best to soften the blow by offering discounted shipping or other incentives.

We also have Estimated Annual Usage (E.A.U.) levels built into our most popular parts.  A major benefit of calling Lyn-Tron for your connector & electronic needs is because typically we have stock available for your request.  By utilizing the E.A.U.s we should never run out of our popular style parts thus giving you, our customer, the fastest service possible.  In business it’s always important to remain proactive instead of reactive.

Sincerely,
Jeff Nichols

Lyn-Tron Online Desktop

January 7th, 2010

Lyn-Tron’s IT department has been busy developing an on-line desktop for distributors and representatives. This new feature will allow users to use a browser, much like their regular desktop. There will be a familiar look and feel to the on-line desktop including a windowing system for using multiple on-line apps at the same time. The windows can be placed anywhere inside the desktop. Check out the video below for a very early sneak peek.

Lyn-Tron Santa Claus?

December 11th, 2009

SantaClaus

Did you know Santa Claus has mad Davenport machining skills??  Who knew?!?  Apparently when Santa isn’t busy getting ready for his all nighter around the world, he spends most of his time setting up jobs on the Davenport multi-spindle machines at Lyn-Tron.  This Santa is not your average mall Santa.  He is the real deal! I dare you to try tugging on that beard of his to see if it’s fake.  You’ll be in for quite a surprise!  Santa enjoys spending time in the Spokane, WA area.  He books many appearance jobs around the city and spreads holiday cheer to all.  Another clue this is the REAL Santa is that he donates all the money he receives from his appearances to local charities.  If that’s not a sign of the real Santa Claus, then I don’t know what is.  Lyn-Tron is proud to have Santa as one of their own!

Google Wave

December 9th, 2009

All I can say is wow! If you have not heard of this awesome tool yet, I suggest you follow this link and read up.  This tool could, and probably will, revolutionize the way we do business and stay in touch with friends and family. You can think of it as a live, on line collaboration tool box of goodness. I have just started to scratch the surface of it’s features. If anybody is interested in receiving an invite I have about 5 left. Just so you know, Wave is still in an experimental state so you may need to have some patience, but I have yet to see any undesirable results.
