RoHS -- Restriction On Hazardous Materials
Definition
The European Union (EU) has adopted a directive concerning the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Restriction of Hazardous Substance, RoHS, states that after July 1, 2006, electrical and electronic equipment sold in European Union Council Countries, not contain lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE). Exceptions are detailed in the Annex to the European Directive.

Lyn-Tron has over 145,000 standard and custom part numbers. The majority of these part numbers are compliant with the current European RoHS directive. We are committed to providing our customers with RoHS compliant products. We will provide aid in the selection of parts that meet the particular requirements of each individual customer
RoHS Compliance at Lyn-Tron
Lyn-Tron, Inc. manufactures and distributes precision electronics hardware. In reference to Dir. 2011/65/EU and Dir. 2015/683/EU, Lyn-Tron adheres to the requirements of these directives for a majority of its products. When applicable, Lyn-Tron maintains compliance using exemptions found in Annex III, Section 6 of Dir. 2011/65/EU concerning allowable concentration exemptions as stated:
“Lead as an alloying element in steel containing up to 0.35% lead by weight, Aluminum containing up to 0.4% lead by weight and as a copper alloy containing up to 4% lead by weight.” |
Raw Material RoHS Compliance

*Aluminum parts that are Compliant will have a prefix of AA in lieu of AL. An example of a newly created compliant Aluminum part that is as follows:
Non-Compliant part number: AL6341-04-0.250-21
Compliant part number: AA6341-04-0.250-25
Custom Part Compliance:
Lyn-Tron provides custom parts to many customers. These parts are manufactured to customer supplied drawings and specifications. Any change or deviation is the responsibility of the customer. The customer is responsible for providing new drawings and/or specifications.
Certificate of Compliance
Compliance certification on specific part numbers can be supplied if requested at the time of order placement. RoHS compliance must be stated at time of order placement. Certification of RoHS compliance will be supplied at no charge. Specific analysis of chemical and material content on raw material is available for a fee of $145.00.
Non Compliant Parts
We do have some parts that are not compliant because the finish contains cadmium, hexavalent chromium or lead. Many of these parts are for Military applications and are not subject to RoHS specifications.
